Patman & Bloggin'

Welcome back Patelman!

(The ladies missed you)

In honor of the return to consciousness of Patelman, I thought I'd throw a few links up here myself. No freebies though. Now that Patelman is back I can hold off on the mass freebie listings... for now.

For the young girl who's trying to get over her fear of tampons maybe?
http://www.mypapercrane.com/indexSTOREtampon.html

Speaking of tampons, or actually no, it has nothing to do with tampons, but if you miss all those old intros to TV shows you used to know and love, you can watch them at http://retro.vandegrift.net/

And in case that just isn't exciting enough, try this game -http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/squares2.php

Beat your best score or number of squares! Have fun!

Happy Trails

In a world of movies - one article will explain the difference between good and bad... trailers.

Have you ever sat through a trailer and the music seemed familiar, but you just thought that you were hearing things? Did you know that many trailers actually do use soundtracks from other movies? Read about that and lots of other trailer tidbits here:

Naughty Rose

Anybody catch the MTV video music awards awhile back? Interested in what Rose McGowan's dress looked like from the front? Try the link below. Marilyn Manson is standing with her.

Horsies!

Speaking of trails (well, it was trailers, but that's close enough), if you're into horse-back riding, here's a site with several stables listed. The link takes you to Texas, but you can navigate to other states as well.

Apple fumbles - Market share remains with Microsoft

Just a quick update from "Michael's Minute", the Linspire Newsletter:

My disappointment was captured by an Apple spokesman who commented on what the switch does not mean: "We will not allow running Mac OS X on anything other than an Apple Mac." Future "Mactel" computers will have specially designated Intel chips, not generic x86 compatible chips found in common PCs. My sources say that Jobs is going to use Intel's cryptographic technology called LaGrande to make sure OS X will only boot on Apple-branded hardware. This is a similar technique to the one that Microsoft used to make sure Linux could not be loaded on Xbox...

The bottom line is that PC buyers will unfortunately not have the option to install and experience OS X. There will be no low-cost laptops from budget-minded Taiwanese manufacturers. There will be no generic AMD or Via white boxes sold by the millions capable of running OS X. Apple will not be reaching the 95% of the world buying Intel-compatible machines.

I knew it was too good to be true. The only plus side is that it probably means that eventually all that will be left (outside of specialized hardware) is the good old 86 line and it's descendants. One day...

Hell freezes over!

Apple drops IBM PowerPC line for Intel chips

At its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) today, Apple announced plans to begin delivering models of its Macintosh computers using Intel microprocessors by June 2006, and to transition all of its Macs to using Intel microprocessors by the end of 2007. Apple previewed a Mac OS X Tiger system running on an Intel-based Mac to the audience of developers attending Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ keynote address. ... MORE

Wow. Finally, standardization. And now, the MacOS/Windows war begins. It's all about the better OS at this point. I will be happy to see the proprietary Macintosh hardware world die. No more silliness. Everyone just fights it out on the same battleground, and everything is a million times more compatible and transferable. What a relief. I thought it would never end.
