Wonder

Freebie of the day - .04 fl oz Lemon & Verbena Eau de Toilette coupon (Redeem at Bath & Body Works) expires 4/18/05

Experience the Wonder
Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy and Firefly (movie Serenity), is signed on to write and direct the movie. I wonder who will play the main character. I hope he doesn't cast someone famous just cuz they're famous. Jennifer Garner (Elektra sucked), Halle (has Catwoman even come out yet?), or Pam Anderson (Barb Wire enough said) should not be on Whedon's list. I remember originally Sandra Bullock was interested but he might go with Eliza Dushku.
Lasso time

Completely off topic, but you ever wonder what the tallest virtual building would look like? Well, stop wondering and click here.

Speaking of buildings, there's a way to make a building in 12 hours by Just Adding Water -
"A pair of engineers in London have come up with a "building in a bag" -- a sack of cement-impregnated fabric. To erect the structure, all you have to do is add water to the bag and inflate it with air. Twelve hours later the Nissen-shaped shelter is dried out and ready for use. It is almost as easy to transport as a tent, but is as durable and secure as a portable building. "

About 2 weeks ago I got 1,000 visitors to the blog (which is a 1000 more than I normally get). So naturally I was curious and did some digging and found the following G4 forum linked to my Freeware blog:
The reply to the post actually has a wonderful link to more freeware programs.

I was going to work Stevie Wonder into this post but I couldn't find anything interesting enough. Stevie didn't rape or kill anyone. Way to let me down Stevo.

The Freebie is on the comments section, thanks anonymous!

A time machine on ebay ... went for only $648. What a bargain! Someone's been watching Napoleon Dynamite way too much...and it's not B$.

DBAN
"Darik's Boot and Nuke is a self-contained boot floppy that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction." Looks like it loads in memory and takes a while to 'format' and 'rewrite'. Haven't tested it yet.

Play Pac-Man and Space Invaders on Excel
Must enable macros. Good for people who have access to Excel at work but not to any games...(no I don't know anyone like that)

What Happens When You Don't Pay Your Taxes in India
"Tax defaulters in southern India are being forced to face the music after city authorities hired drummers to play non-stop outside their homes until they pay up.
After many residents ignored repeated demands to settle overdue property taxes. authorities in a city in Andhra Pradesh state have sent 20 groups of drummers to play outside offenders' houses for the past week. The new method seems to be working. One week of incessant drumming has cleared 18 percent of the backlog. "

Electronic Reusable Paper
Eat your heart out Etch-a-Sketch
Forget having to write on Kangaroo poop paper, this new paper uses technology that lets you reuse the paper. "It stores an image, is viewed in reflective light, has a wide viewing angle, is flexible, and is relatively inexpensive. For applications requiring more rapid and direct electronic update, it might be packaged with a simple electrode structure on the surface and used more like a traditional display. An electronic reusable paper display could be very thin and flexible. A collection of these displays could be bound into an electronic book. With the appropriate electronics stored in the spine of the book, pages could be updated at will to display different content."
